The California Lottery announced Monday, May 15, that Trapp, a longtime player, had won the April 28 draw with the numbers 6-13-18-20-31 and the Mega number 13.

Per tradition, Trapp used the birthdays of family members as his numbers.

“It really hasn’t sunk in,” he said in a statement. “It’s either real or a very long and detailed dream. I don’t really see myself as a millionaire. It’s a big change. We’re going to take it one step at a time.”

Trapp, who’d previously won a California Lottery high of $480, can receive $61 million spread out in annual payments over 30 years or $37.2 million right away.

The Laguna Hills 7-Eleven that sold the ticket will receive a $305,000 bonus.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the in U.S. Virgin Islands. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m.
